Fleet and volume pack rebuilds, custom pack design, contract assembly on our automated line, and graded cell supply for manufacturers. Every job starts with an in-house engineering assessment.
Imported e-scooter, e-motorbike and delivery-bike packs sold in South Africa over the last few years are now reaching end of life, and most of the suppliers who imported them offer no service. We rebuild them in batches for fleet operators, rental companies and distributors who carry the after-sales support. Because we work in batches, this service is set up for volume clients rather than single packs.
Delivery, rental and e-mobility fleets
Distributors who need after-sales rebuild support
Batch intake with scheduled returns
Graded replacement cells, capacity and safety tested
Have a product that needs a battery? We design the pack around your load, size and charging requirements, build prototypes, then take it to production on our own line, with your intellectual property kept confidential throughout.
Cell selection for your load profile (18650 & 21700 in stock)
Our seven automated resistance spot welders have far more capacity than our own products use. If you already have a pack design, we can build it for you, from small runs to scheduled volume production, with cells from our graded stock or your own.
Manufacturers who need modest volumes of consistent cells are poorly served by importers who want container-sized orders. We supply 18650 and 21700 cells that have been tested and sorted on our automated grading line, in the quantities you actually need. For significant projects, we’ll also consider other cell formats.
Not at the moment. Our rebuild service is set up for batches from fleet operators and distributors, so we can keep turnaround and quality consistent. If you have a significant number of packs, get in touch.
What kinds of packs do you rebuild?
Small-format lithium-ion packs built from cylindrical cells, mainly e-scooter, e-motorbike and delivery-bike packs. Many fail because a few cells or the protection board have failed, not the whole pack. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of the label.
Are your cells new or recovered?
Our cells come from three sources: new cells used only in manufacturers’ weld-validation testing (never cycled), surplus stock, and cells recovered from end-of-life packs. Every one is tested, graded and reworked to specification on our own line before we use or sell it.
Which cell formats do you work with?
We stock 18650 and 21700 cells right now. For significant projects, we’ll consider other cell formats, so tell us what you need.
Is a rebuild cheaper than buying new?
When packs are recoverable, a rebuild is usually more affordable than replacements, and it keeps the old packs out of landfill. If a batch isn’t worth rebuilding, we’ll tell you and quote replacements instead.
Can you build our pack design at volume?
Yes. Our welding line has plenty of spare capacity, so we can take on contract assembly from small runs to scheduled production.
Will our design stay confidential?
Yes. Design and assembly work is handled confidentially and your intellectual property remains yours, from first prototype to production run.
How do packs get to you?
Drop them at our workshop (Unit D43 Olive Grove Estate, Old Paardevlei Road, Somerset West), or we arrange road-freight collection for larger batches. Lithium batteries can’t travel by air.
